About Island Sports & Dance
Island Sports & Dance opened their doors in 2003 and since then has added new classes, teachers, and more to bring the instruction of dance, theater, and sports to the greater Merritt Island area in a safe and fun environment. We strive to teach all of our students the fundamentals and the art of dance, but also to have an enjoyable time doing so. We are a year-round studio and the home of Brevard Shotokan Karate (external link). Since 2008, we have also been the training place for our local Merritt Island High School Dance Team.
We offer classes in all forms of dance, including ballet, jazz, hip hop, combo (ballet and tap for youngsters), and more. We offer classes for children as young as two years old and classes for adults as well. Our sports classes include Brevard Shotokan Karate, pilates, Zumba, and KidFit. We also have theater and voice classes. During the summer, we offer theater day-camps.
Our Facility
Our studio is located on northern Merritt Island and is housed in a 3600 square foot building with 14 foot ceilings. Our studio is divisible into two separate dance floors to accommodate for smaller and larger class sizes as needed and to allow us to offer two classes simultaneously. There is a sitting room for parents to watch their children during class. There is also a dressing room for the convenience of our students.
